Nov 26, 2020 (newstodate): For the first time in IATA's history, a CEO from SAS will chair the Board of Governors of the organization.
Taking up the position from 2022, Rickhard Gustafson serving as SAS Group CEO since February 1, 2011, will take over from the now incoming Chairman of BoG Robin Hayes, CEO of JetBlue Airways, who will in his turn replace IATAS's outgoing Chairman Carsten Spohr, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Lufthansa Group.
IATA represents some 290 airlines in 120 countries, with members operating over 80 percent of the world's airlines, including the world's leading passenger and cargo airlines.
