Nov 27, 2020 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport will see new construction activities in the cargo area at the airport's eastern premises.
The Swedish logistics facilities developer Logistic Contractor has won the contract with DHL Express Denmark to build a new 26,000 sq m airside cargo handling and parcel sorting terminal also comprising office space and a maintenance shop.
After the ink has dried up on the paper, construction works will start immediately aiming at commissioning of the coming new facility already in summer 2022.
Already in early 2018, DHL Express bought a 43,116 sq m land plot adjacent to its existing cargo handling terminal, earlier housing the facilities of Gate Gourmet, and plans were then to see the new terminal enter operation by 2023.
The new terminal will have the capacity to sorting of some 37,000 items per hour.
