Nov 10, 2020 (newstodate): In-night logistics provider DANX Finland is pleased with the performance of its new freighter route between Helsinki and Stockholm.
-Loads on the leg from Stockholm to Helsinki are fully in line with budgets, and we are even approaching a situation where we will consider the need for a bigger aircraft than the Metroliner currently operating, says Pasi Junninen, DANX Finland Mng Dir.
-As also expected, the challenge remains finding customers for the flights from Helsinki to Stockholm. Finnish forwarders are not used to dealing with commercial airlines on this route, relying instead on integrator services. Also trucking solutions beat air cargo on rates. The task is therefore to identify Finnish potential customers with specific needs for time-sensitive air logistics where DANX is a strong contender.
-Demand in the Swedish market is building up, and given the constraints with the current freighter capacity we are close to reining back on our sales efforts! We need to focus on our regular customers and cannot risk a situation where we would have to short-ship their goods.
-The Coronavirus times are challenging, but for our business the timing proved favorable. We have had an excellent launch of services with no delays or snags, whether it be flight operations or handling where Swissport has really gone the extra mile to assist us, says Mr Juninnen.
