Nov 18, 2020 (newstodate): The Danish regional carrier SUN-AIR has decided to temporarily suspend all scheduled flights until August 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
-We continue to follow the situation closely country by country. However, if the European countries can agree on more harmonious travel restrictions and if more regular demand arises in the market, we are ready to start one or more routes before August 2021, the carrier says on its website.
Sun-Air temporarily suspended all flights from April 6, 2020, as the coronavirus brought the market down, later planning for flights from Billund to Oslo, Manchester, Brussels and London City to start again from November 2, 2020, while resumption of services on the route to Dusseldorf would be reopened only from January 1, 2021.
This, however, proved to be untenable.
The carrier, based at Billund Airport, is now suspending all flights from Billund to Brussels, Dusseldorf, London City, Manchester and Oslo, as well as flights on the route between Friedrichshafen and Dusseldorf.
Sun-Air will, however, resume the operation of a private air shuttle on behalf of AstraZeneca between Manchester, Cambridge and Gothenburg.
Operating as a British Airways franchise partner, Sun-Air has a fleet of 14 Dornier 328-300 regional jet aircraft
