Nov 04, 2020 (newstodate): Copenhagen is returning to Thai Airways' network - but on a most limited scale..
Supported by a state program, the carrier will resume special semi-commercial flights to seven destinations in November and December - with Copenhagen as one destination alongside London, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Taipei and Sidney.
The flights between Bangkok and Copenhagen will be performed once weekly during November and December 2020, and will be "semi-commercial" as they are targeting foreigners needing repatriation flights for family reunion, students pursuing studies abroad, people on business travels, and foreign tourists applying for Special Tourist VISA.
Thai Airways suspended all flights to Copenhagen from April 1 till "at least" May 31, 2020, later adjusted to August 2020 - and still pending an opening of the markets.
In August 2020, Thai Airways aired intentions for a cautious return on the route between Copenhagen and Phuket, comprising from the outset only two rotations per month starting from November 2020 and planned for the winter season.
It remains unclear, however, if a reopening of flights to Phuket will actually be carried through given the sustained coronavirus pandemic.
