Nov 02, 2020 (newstodate): The era of four-engine long haul aircraft is ending for SAS.
SAS is amid the program for phasing out its Airbus A340-300 aircraft fleet, with one more leaving today for parking and part-out in the USA.
This latest departure leaves SAS with only two Airbus A340-300 in the fleet that at its height comprised seven aircraft serving the long-haul routes to Asia and the USA.
SAS took delivery of its first aircraft of this type in August 2001, and the aircraft is now replaced by Airbus A350 aircraft.
