Nov 17, 2020 (newstodate): Copenhagen Airport is down 90 percent in passenger volumes in 2020, and is now handling an average of only 5,600 passengers on a daily basis.
This calls for strong countermeasures to ward off at least part of the costs and rein in on losses.
As a result, Copenhagen Airport has announced a decision to close parts of Copenhagen Airport from November 25, 2020, already.
To be sealed off are some 40 percent of the terminal area and 24 gates, including the Pier A and Pier West complex.
The closure of the selected gate area will remain in effect throughout 2021, while a reopening could be activated within two months if warranted by a rise in passenger traffic not currently within sight.
