Oct 09, 2020 (newstodate): The coming winter 2020/21 schedule will reflect a drastic downsizing of Finnair's schedules.
In the winter 2019/20 the carrier operated about 350 daily flights a day to over 100 destinations in Europe, Asia and North America.
This coming winter will see the carrier with only approximately 75 daily flights to 45 domestic and European destinations, with reduced weekly frequencies on almost all routes.
Finnair's long-haul flights will focus on Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Nanjing and Bangkok, which are also important cargo destinations.
On the Bangkok route, Finnair flies passengers only on the BKK-HEL leg, while the carrier will continue to operate cargo-only flights to Singapore and New York.
One positive news is on the screen, however: Finnair is returning flights on its route between Helsinki and Osaka, starting out with two weekly rotations from tomorrow, October 10, 2020.
Finnair opened its route to Osaka in June 2003, and has been offering up to 12 weekly rotations from Helsinki.
