Oct5 28, 2020 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport is welcoming British Airways' and Ryanair's reopening of vital routes to European destinations.
British Airways is thus now back on the route between Billund and London Heathrow, while Ryanair is reopening its route between Billund and Vienna.
Both routes were suspended as the coronavirus pandemic struck, but with the reopening of two routes the airport is now seeing flights to 22 directly served destinations in Europe, while still down from 100 destinations served in 2019.
European air travel options are vital for Billund Airport, located in the midst of Denmark's industrial and trade center, with many companies strong on international trade, both import- and export-wise.
About half of Denmark's 800,000 export-related jobs are actually provided by the region's industries.
