Oct 19, 2020 (newstodate): Two new Airbus A220-300 aircraft are flying in Canadian air to undergo the series of pre-delivery test flights.
airBaltic took delivery of its 23rd aircraft on September 19, 2020, leaving two more deliveries planned for completion before the end of this year.
The 24th aircraft thus lifted off on its first test flight already on September 29, 2020, and the 25th - and last delivery slated for 2020 - took to the skies on October 17, 2020.
Since May 2020, airBaltic operates all of its flights with a single aircraft type – Airbus A220-300, having retired all 12 Bombardier Q400 aircraft, leased from Nordic Aviation Capital under a contract expiring in 2023, while the parties are reportedly negotiating an earlier redelivery scheme.
