Oct 21, 2020 (newstodate): While still far behind volumes in 2019, the Norwegian export of fresh salmon to China is slowly recovering.
In week 42, ending October 18, 2020, Norway sent 305 tonnes of salmon to the Chinese consumers, "only" 18 percent down on the same week in 2019.
And ending week 42, the total volume of Norwegian salmon to China so far into 2020 was 13,095, which is 34 percent down, y-o-y, but significantly better than one month earlier.
Shipments to Hong Kong fared less promising with a total of 176 tonnes in week 42 against 289 tonnes in 2019 - a decline by 39 percent.
Volumes in weeks 1-42 2020 were 8,312 tonnes, down 24 percent, y-o-y.
