Oct 28, 2020 (newstodate): Icelandair plans to have 30 aircraft operating in the Summer 2021 schedule.
The mainstay of the fleet will comprise 17 Boeing 757-200/300 aircraft after the sale of three aircraft for conversion to cargo and the retirement of a further four aircraft for scrap and part-out.
In the fleet will also be four Boeing 767-300 aircraft and between six and nine Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 9, with three deliveries from April 2021 adding to the existing fleet of six already delivered - but still grounded.
Icelandair's operations in Q3, 2020, were still marred by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic while cargo revenues continued to lift the result by rising 16 percent, y-o-y.
-Overall, however, we only operated nine per cent of our passenger flight schedule and the number of passengers decreased by 90 percent from the year before, the company says in a release on its Q3, 2020, performance.
