Oct 26, 2020 (newstodate): Icelandair expects to see its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in commercial service by the end of the coming winter season.
Currently grounded are five Boeing 737 MAX 8 and one Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft; Icelandair will have nine in the fleet by the end of 2021, growing to 12 in 2022-25.
According to the latest version of Icelandair's Summer 2021 schedule, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft will be operating two weekly flights on the route between Keflavik and Billund, three weekly rotations to Bergen, five weekly rotations to Chicago, four weekly to Glasgow, two weekly to Hamburg, four weekly to London Gatwick, three weekly to Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Montreal, and four weekly rotations to New York JFK.
