Oct 16, 2020 (newstodate): Hopes may be fading for Sweden to see the start of services on the planned route connecting Tokyo Haneda Airport and Stockholm Airport.  
   The operation by All Nippon Airlines was to commence with the first flight on June 6, 2020, with three weekly rotations increasing to daily operations with Boeing 787-8 aircraft from June 21, 2020 - but then came the coronavirus..
   Already in April 2020, ANA announced that the opening of the route had been postponed, and no new launch date has later been aired.  
   In the meantime, the Japanese carrier has decided to actually halve its long-haul fleet from 120 to only 60  aircraft, focusing on maintaining its traffic in the Asian markets, casting further doubts over plans for a Scandinavian operation.
   Already in November 2019, the Japanese carrier ANA, member of the Star Alliance, announced its decision to launch direct non-stop services beginning summer 2020 between Tokyo Haneda Airport and Stockholm Airport, ending 30 years of absence of direct flights, long sought-after between Sweden and Japan.
