Oct 12, 2020 (newstodate): Low demand in the market calls for smaller aircraft, creating a renewed role for turboprop aircraft.
As one example, Croatia Airlines is putting its fleet of six Dash-8 Q400 aircraft into frontline services on several routes earlier served with jet aircraft.
Croatia Airlines will thus be operating Q400 aircraft on routes from Zagreb to destinations including Copenhagen as well as Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Rome, Sarajevo and Zurich.
So far, the routes to London, Skopje and Paris will remain served with jet aircraft.
The carrier took delivery of its first A400 aircraft in May, 2008, as part of a four-aircraft lease contract later expanded with a further two units replacing the ATR-42 fleet.
