Oct 07, 2020 (newstodate): Boeing foresees a 60 percent growth in the world's freighter fleet, 2019-39, to 2,430 units.
Of the 2,430 freighters, conversions will account for 1,500 units, including 420 converted wide-body and 1,080 converted narrow-body aircraft.
Boeing thus foresees the addition of 450 new large wide-body and 480 new standard wide-body freighters.
The increase in the world's freighter fleet is, however, uneven on a global scale. Not surprisingly, China will take the lead with a big leap forward from 200 freighters in 2019 to a total of 750 units in 2019.
European operators will grow more modestly from 310 to 470 units during the period, while Russia will remain unchanged with 160 freighter aircraft.
North America will also see modest growth from 940 to 1,160 freighters, 2019-39.
