Oct 27, 2020 (newstodate): Despite the general corona-driven crisis in the global aviation industry, Aviator Airport Alliance AB has deepened its foothold in the Nordic airport handling markets.
The latest success scored is today's announcement of the company's landing of a key contract at Helsinki Airport with Finnair, taking effect from March 3, 2021.
In July 2020, Aviator announced successful agreement extensions with Norwegian to provide ground handling services for the airline until March 2024 at 10 stations in Norway in addition to Sweden's Stockholm-Arlanda and Malmo airports.
Previously, the company had successfully signed ground handling agreements with SAS for the next five years at Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Malmo Airport, starting from 1 September 2020.
Furthermore, Aviator secured an agreement for the coming five-year period to service SAS at the stations in Tromso, Bardufoss, Bergen and Kristiansand from February 2021.
At Copenhagen Airport, Aviator provides baggage and ground handling for some 30 companies including Emirates and the Lufthansa Group carriers.
Managed Jo Alex Tanem as CEO, Aviator Airport Alliance now provides airport handling services at 15 airports in the Nordic region.
On February 14, 2020, Lithuania's Avia Solutions Group announced the acquisition of Aviator from its former owner, the investment fund Accent Equity 2008, firming up its position in the ground handling business that also comprises the ownership since 2008 of Baltic Ground Services.
