Oct 05, 2020 (newstodate): While not officially confirmed, it now seems that Copenhagen Airport will have to wait till summer 2021 for Air Canada to return passenger flights.
According to the latest indications, flights on the route between Toronto and Copenhagen will resume only from June 1, 2021, and not from March 2021, as earlier expected.
Since June 25, 2010, Air Canada has been online with direct scheduled flights between Toronto and Copenhagen after a decade of seasonal operations, but operations were suspended due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
Air Canada however remains committed to serving the cargo market with all-cargo passenger aircraft flights in a partnership with HWF since April 26, 2020.
From the start, the carrier has been offering one weekly all-cargo Boeing 787-9 rotation - but increasing from October 1, 2020, to two weekly rotations to accommodate the increasing demand for westbound cargo movement.
The original Sunday service remains unchanged, but a new Thursday flight has been added using Boeing 787-9 aircraft with the first operation between Toronto and Copenhagen on October 1, 2020.
