Jan 28, 2020 (newstodate): The General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates has banned three Moldavian cargo airlines from its airspace.
With effect from February 1, 2020, the three airlines Aerotrans Cargo, Air Stork and Global Air Transport will be excluded from operating at the airports of the UAE due to alleged concerns for lack of air safety.
Besides the alleged lack of air safety, two of the cargo operators are also said to have defied the aviation agreement between the countries by basing an aircraft in the UAE and exercising the 7th Freedom without onward service to or from Moldova.
Founded in 2011, Aerotrans Cargo operates a fleet of four Boeing 747-400 converted freighters, Air Stork operates one Airbus A300B4 freighter, while the status of Global Air Transport is unclear.
