Jan 08, 2020 (newstodate): Good news from Estonia's Tallinn Airport is the rise in postal volumes handled in 2019.
Export mail volumes thus increased by 24 percent, y-o-y, to 1,706 tonnes, and import mail volumes also increased by 5.8 percent to 1,226 tonnes.
The not-so-good news is that both export and import cargo volumes failed to deliver growth, down by 8.7 and 12.8 percent, respectively.
Export volumes were thus 3,277 tones, and imports reached 4,707 tonnes.
Summing up, cargo and mail volumes at Tallinn Airport in 2020 ended at 10,916 tonnes, a drop by 5.2 percent, y-o-y.
So for Tallinn Airport, prospect for a re-bounce in cargo clearly lies in a sustained growth in e-trade related business driving the mail traffic volumes.
