Jan 17, 2020 (newstodate): The Swedish airline Braathens Regional Airways has now taken delivery of its second ex-factory ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The aircraft is part of the batch of five new aircraft under the leasing contract signed in September 2019 with Aviation PLC .
All five aircraft will be delivered in Q1, 2020, replacing the fleet of eight Avro RJ100 and two Avro RJ85 aircraft now re-marketed by Skyworld.
The new aircraft will allow Braathens to cover up for the dwindling "flyshamed" Swedish domestic market by opening new international routes in 2020, including flights on routes from Stockholm Bromma Airport to Tallinn, Riga and Berlin, as well as from Gothenburg to Berlin.
New seasonal routes will also be opened, with the first between Malmo and Split during the period May 30-September 26, 2020.
