Jan 16, 2020 (newstodate): Prague Airport is scoring a major first in Europe with the landing of a new carrier in 2020: Bamboo Airways.
Prague is thus to become the first European destination on the Vietnamese carrier's route network.
Pending approval of its applications with the relevant authorities, Bamboo Airways plans to launch services by the end of March 2020, scheduling two weekly rotations between Ho Chi Minh City and Prague with Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The start of services to Prague will presumably be only the first step in a strategy for more coverage of the European market for air services to Vietnam.
Starting operations in January 2019, Bamboo Airways now operates a fleet comprising 23 aircraft including one Boeing 787-9, but orders have been placed for 46 Airbus A321neo as well as 29 Boeing 787-9 aircraft
