Jan 16, 2020 (newstodate)L Latvia's Riga Airport is starting the new year by welcoming a new cargo operator on the runway: Eleron Aircompany.
The Ukrainian cargo airline will perform its first flights on the route between Kiev and Riga Airport on January 17, 2020, and offer one weekly rotation on the route with AN-26 aircraft lifting up to 5.5 tonnes.
At a later stage, plans are to add also flights between Lviv and Riga.
Set up in 2017 and landing its AOC in 2018, the carrier started out with a fleet of two AN-26 aircraft growing to six units, and adding three Boeing 737-300 freighters in 2019, all allocated to regular and charter cargo operations, with plans to obtain IOSA certification in 2020 as well as applying for IATA membership.
