In 2019, all three Baltic capital airports reported significant growth in passenger volumes, together totalling some 16 million passengers.
Latvia's Riga Airport retains the position as the region's largest in terms of passenger volumes, reaching 7.8 mio pax in 2019 and growing 10.5 percent, y-o-y.
Second largest in the region is Lithuania's Vilnius Airport that handled lightly over five mio pax in 2019, and growing 3.8 percent, y-o-y.
Estonia's Tallinn Airport handled 3.26 mio passengers in 2019 and saw volumes up by nine percent, y-o-y.
AirBaltic has a strong profile, measured in market share, at all three airport, not surprisingly topped by Riga Airport, it main hub, where it stands for 58.5 percent of the passenger through-put.
In the Estonian market, airBaltic holds 21 percent of the passenger volume, significantly boosted by the retreat from the market by Nordica in 2019.
Finally, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport where airBaltic accounts for 12 percent of the traffic.
In the summer 2020 schedule, airBaltic will further bolster its positions in Estonia and Lithuania.
The carrier has announced the launch of direct flights to four new destinations from Tallinn, Estonia, and five new routes from Vilnius, Lithuania.
In summer 2020, airBaltic will thus be serving flights to 16 destinations from Estonia, and 11 from Lithuania.
