Jan 14, 2020 (newstodate): The Swedish market is still eagerly awaiting information from All Nippon Airlines about a start-up date for the new Sweden-Japan flights.
Already in November 2019, the Japanese carrier ANA, member of the Star Alliance, announced its plans to launch direct non-stop services beginning summer 2020 between Tokyo Haneda Airport and Stockholm Airport using Boeing 787 aircraft on the route.
ANA would thus end 30 years of absence of direct flights long sought-after between Sweden and Japan.
Stockholm has since been included on the airline's route map - but no flight schedule has yet been announced.
The volume of passengers on flights between Sweden and Japan has expanded by 50 percent over the last year, and the coming new route is also supported by strong needs among businesses trading between Japan and Sweden, with some 150 Swedish companies established in Japan and some 160 Japanese companies established in Sweden.
