Jan 29, 2020 (newstodate): The Danish privately-owned regional carrier SUN-AIR is pulling out from serving the German domestic route between Bodensee Friedrichshafen Airport and Hamburg.
The last flight will be performed on February 11, 2020, as the demand especially in the business segment has proved below expectations.
The airport also finds that a resumption of flights on the route will require a larger aircraft than SUN-AIR's Dornier 328 to attain profitability.
SUN-AIR's flights on routes from Bodensee Friedrichshafen Airport to Dusseldorf and Toulouse, currently served with 10 and four weekly rotations, will however continue as of today, and SUN-AIR is also planning to launch services from Friedrichshafen to Bremen.
SUN-AIR made its entry into the German domestic market on June 4, 2018, with the opening of the route between Friedrichshafen and Dusseldorf.
