Jan 16, 2020 (newstodate): The Danish regional aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital has now firmed up its contract with Airbus for 20 Airbus A220 Family aircraft.
The contract follows on the inking of an MoU between the parties at last year's Paris Air Show.
No details are provided on which customer may surface as the future operator of NAC's Airbus A220 Family aircraft, but speculations are that they may end up with SAS that has earlier aired intentions of setting up a new subsidiary to provide capacity on SAS' European route network with a fleet of 20 aircraft.
Based at Denmark's Billund Airport, Nordic Aviation Capital serves 76 airline customers in 50 countries and manages a fleet comprising close to 500 aircraft including ATR 42, ATR 72, Bombardier Dash 8, CRJ900/1000, Airbus A220 and Embraer E-Jet family aircraft.
According to a table generated by FlightAscend Consultancy comprising the world's 30 top aircraft leasing companies, NAC ranks #5.
