Jan 07, 2020 (newstodate): From the start of this year, Azerbaijan is welcoming international airlines to operate into its airports enjoying full 5th and 7th Freedom Rights.
Benefiting from this new opening are airlines from France, Italy, Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, Czech Republic, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Bulgaria, Georgia, USA, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, South Korea, Malaysia and Australia, and the list of countries will be further expanded in the future.
One notable exemption on the current list is the United Kingdom, reflecting the current uncertainties around the Brexit process.
In connection with this new opening of the Azer market, any airline planning to launch new flights to Azerbaijan will receive a 100 percent discount on airport services in the first year, 70 percent in the second, 50 percent in the third, and 30 percent in the fourth year of operations, while the implementation period and discount rates will be extended if the airline increases frequency of flights.
