Jan 06, 2020 (newstodate): As planned, Latvia's airBaltic received its 22nd Airbus A220-300 aircraft before Christmas.
The aircraft was delivered on December 23, 2019, and is now already in commercial service with the carrier.
For 2020, plans are to expand the fleet with a further four aircraft, landing at 26 units by the end of the year.
The latest three aircraft are the first in the new series of 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft ordered in May 2018.
airBaltic has signed a sale-leaseback contract with Chorus Aviation Capital for the first five new Airbus A220-300 aircraft in the series, with the next two aircraft under this contract to be delivered by the end of Q3, 2020.
