Jan 16, 2020 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport exited 2019 with a sustained increase in cargo volumes by 8.3 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 13,974 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, including 11,479 tonnes of cargo and 2,495 tonnes of mail.
In 2019, cargo volumes were thus up 11 percent, while mail volumes also increased by 2.1 percent.
Turkish Cargo is contributing strongly to the positive cargo growth at Vilnius Airport after launching freighter flights on April 19, 2018, with two weekly Airbus A330-200F rotations, even occasionally operating a Boeing 747-400F freighter from ASL on the route as was the case on November 30, 2019.
