Sep 09, 2019 (newstodate): Starting from September 10, 2019, Georgia's Kutaisi International Airport will add seven new destinations to its route map - slightly delayed...
With the stationing of the third Airbus A320 aircraft at the Kutaisi base, WIzz Air will now add direct scheduled flights to Copenhagen, Tallinn, Brussels, Basel, Eindhoven, Bari, and Poznan.
WIZZ Air was the first European LCC to enter the Georgian market, with flights into Georgia on October 29, 2012, on the route between Kiev and Kutaisi.
WIZZ Air opened its base at Kutaisi Airport on September 23, 2016, with one aircraft, adding a second aircraft at the airport on May 17, 2018, and a third from May 2019, and now operates flights between 27 European destinations and Kutaisi Airport.
The carrier was to place another two more Airbus A320 aircraft at its base at Kutaisi by June 2019, but delays in deliveries from Airbus postponed the delivery of the two aircraft to July and December 2019, instead.
Thus, the opening of flights between Kutaisi and Copenhagen was originally scheduled for August 2, 2019, and Tallinn from August 4.
