Sep 03, 2019 (newstodate): The Russian carrier NordStar Airlines has decided to enter the air cargo market in 2020.
The airline will cooperate with the Russian Kratos Grop of Companies that is also engaged with Sibir Cargo Services at Krasnoyarsk Airport.
The strategy includes the build-up of a fleet of up to five Boeing 767-300F aircraft under a lease agreement with the State Transport Leasing Company, GTLK.
The Kratos Group of Companies will be responsible for marketing and sales of the cargo capacity on the freighters, while NordStar Airlines will provide flight operations, technical and maintenance services of the fleet.
The business model envisages freighter services on Russian domestic routes, as well as traffic between Russia and China and the EU markets.
Based at Norilsk, NordStar Airlines operates a fleet of 11 passenger aircraft including seven Boeing 737 aircraft and four ATR 42, with orders placed for three Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
