Sep 27, 2019 (newstodate): Finland will soon see a new airline operating flights from Vienna: LaudaMotion.
The carrier is expected to be soon announcing a spree of 15 new routes from Vienna, including setting up flights to Finland as well.
One flight will connect Vienna and Helsinki with a daily rotation, and another flights will connect Vienna and Lappeenranta, only 30 km from the border with Russia, starting from March 29, 2020.
The planned new route to Lappeenranta is unique as this airport aggregates some 1/3 of its passengers from the near-by Russian market, besides serving as a leisure destination for European tourists.
A subsidiary to Ryanair Holdings, LaudaMotion will also be first to bring in Ryanair-related traffic into Helsinki Airport.
