Sep 25, 2019 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is returning to Egypt from the coming winter schedule.
The carrier will be offering a weekly rotation between Riga and Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh with one of its now 20 Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
Driving the route is tour operator Tez Tour Latvija that has also contracted another Latvian carrier, SmartLynx to operate a weekly charter flights from Riga to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh with Airbus A320 aircraft.
airBaltic first introduced flights to Egypt on September 30, 2006, also in cooperation with tour operator Tez Tours but open for individual bookings as well.
Like many other airlines, airBaltic however ceased operations to Egypt after the terror attack in October 2015 against an A321 aircraft from the Russian airline Kogalymavia.
