Sep 11, 2019 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air is making a fresh effort to keep its route between Lithuania and Iceland in the air on a year-round basis.
The carrier opened the route between Keflavik, Iceland, and Vilnius, in Lithuania, with the first flight in October 2016, planning for year-round operations.
This did not, however, materialize, but Wizz Air is now planning for reviving the all-year service after the end of this summer season, continuing with two weekly rotations on the route that also attracts passengers from Belarus, neighbouring Lithuania.
Wizz Air also offers flights to Keflavik from Gdansk, Katowice, Warsaw Chopin, Wroclaw and Krakow in Poland, as well as from Budapest, London, Vienna and Riga.
Wizz Air launched flights on its first route to Keflavik on June 19, 2015, with flights from Gdansk, in Poland.
