Sep 16, 2019 (newstodate): Finland's Helsinki Airport today greeted the first flight by Sichuan Airlines that became the third Chinese carrier into the airport in 2019.
The carrier is now offering two weekly flights on the route to Helsinki that will become a triangular service Chengdu-Helsinki-Copenhagen-Helsinki-Chengdu.
Sichuan Airlines is the third Chinese carrier into Helsinki Airport after Tibet Airlines launched flights from April 8, 2019, with one weekly rotation on the route between Jinan, in China's Shandong Province, and Helsinki with Airbus A330, adding a second frequency from May 9, 2019, while the Chinese low-cost carrier Juneyao Airlines launched flights between Shanghai and Helsinki starting from June 28, 2019, offering daily services.
With Sichuan Airlines in the portfolio, Helsinki Airport thus offers 53 weekly flights to eight destinations in mainland China
Aviator Finland has secured handling contracts with all three Chinese carriers at Helsinki Airport.
