Sep 25, 2019 (newstodate): First CIS operator of the long-range version of the Airbus A321 will be Kazakhstan's Air Astana.
On September 23, 2019, the airline took delivery of its first of seven A321-200neo LR aircraft on a long-term lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation.
Over the coming 12-18 months, the remaining six aircraft will join the fleet of Air Astana allowing the carrier to pursue its strategy of growth and network expansion to European destinations as well as new routes to Asia.
In the airline's fleet are already 18 Airbus aircraft including eight A320, four A321, three A320neo, and three A321neo.
The airline also operates three Boeing 767-300 and four Boeing 757-200 aircraft, and by the end of this year Air Astana’s fleet will grow to a total of 39 aircraft.
