Sep 16, 2019 (newstodate): Denmark's Copenhagen Airport has now landed its first direct flight to Georgia.
Starting from September 13, 2019, Wizz Air is offering direct non-stop flights between Copenhagen and Kutaisi, with two weekly rotations on the route.
Earlier plans called for a start of operations already from August 2, 2019, but the start was re-scheduled due to delayed aircraft deliveries from Airbus.
Wizz Air was the first European LCC to enter the Georgian market in October 2012, and opened its base at Kutaisi Airport on September 23, 2016, with one aircraft, adding a second aircraft at the airport on May 17, 2018, and a third from May 2019, and now operates flights between 27 European destinations and Kutaisi Airport.
