Sep 02, 2019 (newstodate): Export volumes were soaring at Denmark's Billund Airport in August 2019, while imports reflect the general downward trend seen in most European airports.
The airport thus handled a total of 6,627 tonnes of cargo in August 2019, an increase by 2.2 percent, y-o-y.
Exports were up 14.3 percent to 4,610 tonnes, but imports lagged behind at 2,017 tonnes, 17.7 percent below August 2018.
During the first eight months of this year, the airport has been handling 48,400 tonnes of cargo, 0.1 percent behind last year, with exports rising 4.4 percent to 33,042 tonnes and exports down 8.6 percent to 15,358 tonnes.
