Sep 13, 2019 (newstodate): Finnair saw its cargo volumes up by 7.8 percent, y-o-y, in August 2019.
A total of 15,245 tonnes was handled, including 10,931 tonnes of cargo on the Asian lanes, also up seven percent, y-o-y.
2,925 tonnes were carried on Finnair's European traffic, while N America saw a growth by 17.5 percent to 1,343 tonnes.
In the first eight months of this year, the carrier has lifted a total of 112,054 tonnes, an increase by 13 percent, y-o-y, despite the ongoing vicissitudes in the world economy and trade.
-Available scheduled cargo tonne kilometres increased by 13.1 percent, y-o-y, while revenue scheduled cargo tonne kilometres increased by 10.0 percent.
-Global uncertainty in world trade has reflected on the freight market and has generally lowered expectations, especially for cargo departing from Asia, reads the airline's comment to the performance.
