Sep 02, 2019 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is now planning the last commercial flights with its remaining Boeing 737 Classic fleet that comprises six Boeing 737-300 and two Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
Stockholm Airport will see its last Boeing 737-300 flight on October 30, 2019, and Copenhagen Airport will bid farewell to the airBaltic aircraft on October 31, 2019 - and the last Boeing 737-300 flight by airBaltic will be performed on the route from Riga to Munich on November 13, 2019.
In the Baltic markets, Tallinn will see the last Boeing 737-300 operation on October 31, 2019.
On November 30, 2019, the Boeing 737-500 will have its last-ever flight on the route from Riga to Copenhagen, having earlier left the routes to Oslo and Stockholm on November 28, 2019, while Vilnius will see the last operation on October 31, and Tallinn on November 24, 2019.
In March 2019, airBaltic entrusted Skytech-AIC to market four of the six Boeing 737-300 and two Boeing 737-500 aircraft together with their CFM56 engines.
Earlier, three of the carrier's Boeing 737-500 aircraft found a new life with Lithuania's KlasJet, with the first ex-airBaltic Boeing 737-500 aircraft entering service with KlasJet from January 2019, and the next two in Q2, 2019.
airBaltic is instead building up its fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft, now operating 19 aircraft of the type and planning to end this year with 22 in the fleet.
