Sep 18, 2019 (newstodate): After a lengthy pause in aircraft deliveries since May 25, 2019, the Latvian carrier airBaltic is soon to see more Airbus A220-300 capacity joining the fleet.
With its first flight on September 11, 2019, another Airbus A220-300 has entered its flight test program as the 20th aircraft to be delivered at Riga Airport, presumably within a month.
airBaltic now operates 19 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, growing to 22 before the end of this year and eventually planning for a fleet comprising up to 80 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, provided a strategic investor is found to bolster the financial stability in future economic contractions.
