Aug 16, 2019 (newstodate): WFS has now announced the opening of its new Pharma Centre at Copenhagen Airport in September 2019.
The official opening event will take place on September 3, 2019.
With investments approved by the WFS Board in January 2019, WFS Denmark started construction of the 1,500 sq m facility in an existing building connecting its two terminals in April this year, and plans to commence the CEIV pre-certification process already by July 2019.
The new Pharma Centre will have the capacity to providing temperature-controlled end-to-end handling of 300 pallets and 30 PMCs in the 2-8 degrees range, in addition to the capacity to provide temperature-controlled handling space in the 15-25 degrees range at other parts of the cargo terminals.
The facility is equipped with six ramps and cargo doors, two cool rooms, as well as dedicated rooms for AVi and RRY storage, and has direct access to the apron.
The pharma industry in the region served by Copenhagen Airport is growing in importance, and a pharma cluster has developed as a clear indication of the region’s attractiveness.
The development is supported by the Medicon Valley Alliance – a Danish/Swedish organization for the entire life science community in Greater Copenhagen, supporting biotech, medico and related industries to the region.
The cluster brings pharma industries close to innovation, development and logistics services, and now counts more than 350 international pharma and related companies in the region.
