Aug 16, 2019 (newstodate): Volumes of flown cargo at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport continue to rise.
In July 2019, the airport thus handled a total of 1,151 tonnes of flown cargo, an increase by 13.99 percent, y-o-y.
The totals included 980 tonnes of cargo and 172 tonnes of mail.
During the first seven months to 2019 the airport has thus handled 7,535 tonnes of cargo and mail, which is an increase by 8.32 percent, y-o-y.
One driver behind the positive cargo growth at Vilnius Airport is Turkish Cargo's freighter flights from April 19, 2018, with two weekly Airbus A330-200F rotations.

The single largest cargo-carrying airline at Vilnius in July was EAT, operating for DHL, with 527 tonnes, followed by Finnair with 326 tonnes, and Turkish Cargo lifting 271 tonnes.
