Aug 07, 2019 (newstodate) Turkish Cargo has selected Lödige Industries to provide the coming new cargo terminal at new Istanbul Airport with state-of-the-art technology.
The 300,000 sq m cargo terminal is designed to handling of up to two mio tonnes of cargo annually when fully developed.
The equipment of the new cargo terminal will include automated high-bay warehouses with 17,000 storage bins, 30 stacking cranes, 15 lifters and an integrated warehouse management system with a direct interface to the customer and freight management systems.
Handling for perishable goods, excess luggage, express luggage, domestic freight and general cargo will take place on two levels.
The cargo terminal will be maintained on site by a local Lödige Industries service team and will also be connected to the Lödige Customer Care Centre in Germany providing 24/7 support.
Lödige Industries has been involved with a wide range of advanced cargo terminal projects around the world, including Finnair's Nordic Cool Cargo Hub and the new cargo terminal at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport.
