Aug 12, 2019 (newstodate): Over the next 20 years, Russia will be in dire needs for new regional aircraft.
Estimates are that some 800 regional aircraft will be needed to cover up for the decommissioning of existing old aircraft as well as a growth in demand for regional air transportation.
Already during the next decade, Russian operators will be forced to phase out some 130 Yak-40, An-24 and An-2 aircraft.
Of the 800 new aircraft needed, 300 aircraft will have a capacity of 30 to 110 seats, while another 500 will be smaller aircraft with capacity below 30 passengers.
