Aug 23, 2019 (newstodate): The Norwegian government has now given its green lights for the start of a new airport project serving Bodo, in the north-western part of the country.
The new airport will replace the existing Bodo Airport to support the increasing tourist traffic in the region as well as opening new facilities for cargo business serving the Norwegian seafood exporters.
The planned new airport will have an annual capacity of 2.5 million passengers and operating a 2,500m runway allowing for handling of all aircraft types and sizes.
What is decided now by Avinor is for the design process to start, and this will be followed by a decision on the eventual financing issues before the end of 2020.
