Aug 29, 2019 (newstodate): The Norwegian company MSG Production has reached a break-through for its unique automated aircraft washing and de-icing system.
Earlier in August 2019, the company landed its first order for the system with Jeddah-based High Wings Aviation Company, and the equipment will be installed at Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport and commissioned by August 2020.
The system has the capacity of de-icing or washing an aircraft up to the size of Boeing 737, requiring only four to six minutes for de-icing, or 20 minutes for a full wash.
During the operation, the aircraft is pulled through the MSG system by an electric tug, and all liquids are easily contained within the system.
