Aug 20, 2019 (newstodate): Russia's first post-Soviet commercial aircraft, the Superjet 100, has found it hard to gain a grip on the Western market.
One exception was CityJet that originally ordered a total of 15 Superjet 100, with options on 16 more- but only seven were delivered.
The aircraft were operated for Brussels Airlines that however abrogated the contract as it expired in spring 2019.
Five of the Superjet 100 operated by CityJet are now standing idle at Shannon Airport, in Ireland, awaiting new assignments.
Owner of the Superjet 100 aircraft is the British leasing company Falko Regional Aircraft that is, however, not including the aircraft on its website detailing its fleet.
