Aug 23, 2019 (newstodate): FBO RIGA business aviation center at Riga International Airport, Latvia, has taken one more step up the handling certification ladder.
As the only business aircraft handling company in the Baltic region, the company has achieved the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling Stage II accreditation after passing the second audit of International Business Aviation Council.
Globally, among 162 organizations only 68 companies have achieved Stage II certification, and only two organizations have been accredited Stage III certification.
In Europe, just over 50 organizations hold IS-BAH certificate, and less than 20 organizations have achieved Stage II, securing FBO RIGA a much coveted position in the region after becoming in 2017 the first certified Stage I provider already in 2017.
FBO Riga, set up in 2000 as part of the privately owned Latvian company Flight Consulting Group, operates a 1,200 sq m VIP and executive passenger terminal opened in 2015, and an 8,400 sq m hangar with maintenance and repair shops.
